The town’s setting is an ideal place for those not only interested in outdoor activities, but experiencing Kolonjaire culture and Albanian hospitatlity as well.

Below are some ideas on how you can spend your time in Kolonja:

Hike Gramozi Mountain, the third highest mountain in Albania, followed by a feast of spit roasted lamb at a local restaurant.

Explore the historic village of Borova which sits above a river canyon which you can hike down to see a stone bridge built at the beginning of the last century.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Kolonja region by hiking in the protected Germenj forest or taking a swim in nearby Lake Shelegur.

Take a tour of the Erseka Museum and learn the history of the region, from its Illyrians roots to its role in promoting the Albanian language.
